Malcolm Murchison studied art and design and obtained a BA Hons degree in 3D design and ceramics, but has spent the majority of his career working in arts administration, mostly notably as an Arts Officer and then Centre Manager at the Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart.
In recent years he has concentrated on his own ceramic practice, producing top-end table ware, remarkable teapots and fantasy flying machines. Teapot 3 (With Liana Wood Handle) is part of the collection of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. It is a unique piece, created using Ashraf Hanna Stoneware clay, copper and a Liana wood handle.
