2022-23 Annual Funding Survey
All organisations in receipt of Annual Funding Programme (AFP) funding from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland are required to complete an annual survey.
The 2022/23 Annual Funding Survey (AFS) is to be completed, as a condition of grant by all organisations in receipt of Annual Funding Programme (AFP) funding.
2022/23 Annual Funding Survey
The Annual Funding Survey needs to be completed by all organisations in receipt of support under the 2022/23 Annual Funding Programme. Once completed and the return has been validated, the final 5% of your award can be drawn down.
As stated in your Letter of Offer, the survey needs to be completed and submitted on-line by Friday 28th April 2023.
The survey can be accessed via 2 dedicated links sent to your organisation via e-mail. Each link will take you to one of the two survey parts:
- Part 1: this is the main survey and gathers data on workforce, income and expenditure and activity delivered. Complete this survey online and in full.
- Part 2: this is the Activity Location Log should be completed online.
The survey is largely consistant with last year with only minor changes to workforce gender, sexuality and ethnicity classifications. This has been necessary to comply with recognised best practice. Questions relating to the impact of Covid have been replaced by two questions relating to activity delivered outside Northern Ireland.
If you are part of a larger charity or business delivering services on a national basis (e.g. 174 Trust, Byson Energy and Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann) please only include responses relative to your arts / culture based activity, not the whole organisation.
We have prepared the following resources to help you complete this year’s survey:
- Guidance Notes: http://artscouncil-ni.org/images/uploads/publications-documents/22_23_Annual_Funding_Survey_Guidance_Notes.docx
- Part 1 & 2 Survey Template Guide: http://artscouncil-ni.org/images/uploads/publications-documents/22_23_AFS_Part_1_and_2_Template.xlsx
About the on-line survey
The survey will save your progress (i.e. if you wish to exit the survey and return your answers your progress will have been saved up until the point you exited the survey).
Ensure you remove the ‘0’ before entering data, where applicable.
Do not enter data in the ‘total’ columns. The sum of row and columns will be entered automatically.
The survey also allows you to go back an amend responses, if you wish. At the end of the survey we will ask you to submit your answers in order to register as “complete”. One you have submitted your survey you will not be able to go back and amend them.
If you have any queries about the survey please contact: strategy@artscouncil-ni.org
