Cahoots NI in association with The Lyric Theatre are celebrating the Broadway premier of Nivelli’s War, an electrifying theatrical adventure, in The New Victory Theater, New York City's premier performing arts venue devoted to children and families, on 42nd Street in the iconic Times Square.

The Northern Ireland Bureau proudly hosted an opening night reception on Friday 28th April for the production’s stateside debut.

In attendance were representatives from Cahoots NI and the Lyric Theatre, Principal Funders Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Chomhairle Ealaíon.

Nivelli’s War, a Cahoots NI and Lyric Theatre co-production, is  based on the moving true story of a Holocaust survivor and told through a blend of theatre, magic, illusion and original music.

Ernst, a young WWII evacuee from Frankfurt, is all alone and far away from home when he meets and befriends the mysterious Mr. H, a stranger with a trick or two up his sleeve. Together, they set off down a road fraught with danger, hunger and uncertainty to find Ernst’s family in this dramatic story of an incredible journey and an unlikely friendship.

Nivelli’s War is written by Charles Way, directed by Paul Bosco Mc Eneaney with original music by Garth McConaghie and is generously supported by Culture Ireland and Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
