Theatre company, Kabosh will present their powerful production, Green & Blue, at Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris on Thursday 8 February, supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the British Council, as part of their international programme for artists.

Green & Blue, written by playwright Laurence McKeown, explores the painful and humorous realities faced by the individuals who patrolled the border during the height of the conflict in Northern Ireland.  Based on an oral archive of serving RUC and An Garda Síochána officers, the production fuses theatre and film to look at the person behind the uniform and the different experiences of two individuals on either side of a line in the ground.

Paula McFetridge, Artistic Director of Kabosh commented,

“Kabosh is proud to have been invited to stage this important political play in Centre Culturel Irlandais in the heart of Paris supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.  ‘Green & Blue’ challenges audiences to address necessary questions about policing and imagine the type of inclusive society we all aspire to live in.

Sonya Whitefield, Arts Development Officer, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, said,

“This important platform at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris is all about providing a stage for our local artists to showcase their immense talent and to convey the culture and creativity that is inherent to Northern Ireland.  The Arts Council is delighted to have Kabosh as our cultural ambassadors in Paris this February where they will present their hard-hitting production, Green & Blue.”

The international programme was established by the Arts Council, in collaboration with the British Council and Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris, with the aim of offering local musicians, writers, dancers, theatre practitioners and visual artists, the opportunity to showcase their talents and promote the culture of Northern Ireland on an international stage.

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland is involved in a range of international platforms including artist residencies in India.  For details and opportunities visit
