Imagine! – one of Belfast’s most engaging and eclectic annual festivals – is seeking passionate individuals to join its Board of Trustees. With the festival now in its 11th year, we’re eager to refresh our Board and bring in fresh perspectives to support our new Festival Director in delivering ambitious plans for growth and innovation.

Roles like this are often seen as dull-but-worthy CV stuffers, but we believe this a genuinely exciting opportunity to help shape the future of a unique arts festival that showcases thought-provoking discussions on contemporary political and societal issues. Trustees are expected to commit to around 6-8 meetings annually and, while the role is unpaid, it offers huge potential returns on the investment of your time. We’re particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in culture, activism, diversity and inclusion. We also encourage applications from young people, disabled people, women and individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds to help ensure the Board reflects the diversity of the community it serves.

About the Organisation

The Imagine! festival takes place in Belfast every March and presents a unique way of imagining the future of this great city — and the wider world. We present high-quality showcases for the discussion of contemporary political and societal issues including new ideas on politics, culture and activism from some of the world’s leading contemporary thinkers. But it’s not all brain-melting policy discussions: there’s something for everyone in the form of exhibitions, humour, family events, music, theatre, tours, workshops and film and whatever else we can find to fire your imagination.
