The Arts Council of Northern Ireland Victims Programme

The Arts Council is responsible for funding and developing the contemporary arts in Northern Ireland, being the principal channel for government funding through its revenue and Lottery funds. The Council recognizes the unique contribution the arts make to the development of a more tolerant and inclusive society. Arts activity both expresses and confronts the diversity of contemporary society and thus offers the possibility of cultural articulation, affirmation, challenge and celebration. The arts matter because they enrich all our lives; deepen understanding of our purpose and are sources of renewal and growth.
