Creative Clusters Conference 2005

Creative Clusters 2005, the third international conference on Creative Industries Development, will be held at Belfast’s Europa Hotel from Monday 24 th – Wednesday 26 th October 2005.

Creative Clusters is the principal networking and peer-learning event for people engaged in the creative industries around the world.

With a packed programme of case studies, policy panels, workshops and poster presentations involving some 50 speakers, supported by an extensive choice of special events and networking opportunities, delegates at Creative Clusters 2005 will explore the hottest topics of the year: Investing in Creativity; Delivering Skills for Creativity; and Inclusion Through Creativity.

Confirmed keynote speakers for 2005 include James Purnell MP, Minister for Creative Industries and Tourism, and Dr Chris Yapp, Head of Public Sector Innovation, Microsoft UK.

Simon Evans, Director of Creative Clusters, commenting on the decision to hold this year’s Creative Clusters conference in Belfast, said: “ Belfast is home to a succession of internationally renowned design, media and architecture clusters that have been founded on the back of strategic investment into its creative industries. Securing the services of Chris Yapp and James Purnell to deliver this year’s keynote speeches highlights how far the city has come in recent years. Their presence will provide fascinating insight and vital micro detail for the benefit of all Belfast’s creative communities which will prove invaluable for its continued development and regeneration for generations to come.”
