Funding and opportunities for Northern Ireland's cultural, creative, and audiovisual sectors.

A free advice desk to support the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors in Northern Ireland, in accessing Creative Europe funding, has officially launched.  Creative Europe is the European Union’s new funding programme to support and strengthen the cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors and runs from 2014-2020 with a budget of €1.46 billion.  The funding builds on the experience and success of the previous Culture and MEDIA programmes, which ran from 2007-2013.

In each country that takes part in the programme Creative Europe Desks provide free information, advice and assistance to applicants.  Creative Europe Desk UK – Northern Ireland will be stationed at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland with all of their advice, events and resources being free throughout the application process.

Roisin McDonough, Chief Executive, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, said: “Northern Ireland’s organisations are in a strong position to apply for Creative Europe funding.  In these austere times, this new source of funding is most welcome and I would encourage all those from the creative and cultural sectors here to contact the Creative Europe Desk UK - Northern Ireland to discover how they might be successful in accessing this funding.”

Past beneficiaries of European funding include the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen’s, Ireland’s leading contemporary international arts festival; Queen’s Film Theatre’s ‘Europa Cinemas’; CORNERS, a platform for artists and audiences designed and driven by cultural organisations at the edges of Europe; The Conquest of Happiness, a cutting-edge production created by award-winning Northern Irish Theatre Company, Prime Cut Productions, in partnership with internationally acclaimed Bosnian Theatre Company East West and the Mladinsko Theatre, Slovenia; and Open The Shutters, a photographic project, lead by The Nerve Centre, based on the theme of division and conflict.

Please contact Creative Europe Desk UK - Northern Ireland if you are interested in applying:
