Three’s Theatre invites you to swipe right if you are looking for love this Valentine’s Day
Looking for love or a spot of romance this Valentine’s Day? Forget the clichés and the happily ever-after, Three’s Theatre Company is inviting you out on a date with a difference with its latest production Date Show.
Opening at the MAC today (Wednesday 31st January) until Sunday 4th February, Date Show invites you to choose from one of two menus, for an immersive, site-specific theatre performance, meeting different dates along your way.
Funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s National Lottery funds, Belfast City Council and the MAC, this unique theatre experience will use everywhere but the theatre space to explore stories of love, first dates, and the eternal quest for happiness.
Anna Lecky is the show’s Artistic Director and Producer, and the MAC’s current Artist in Residence. Looking forward to the show, she said:
“We are really excited about the show. We have commissioned a fantastic team of writers and actors to produce scenes in the bar, restaurant, lift and all kinds of different spaces within the building to offer the audience multiple theatre experiences, depending on which menu they choose when they arrive.”
Gilly Campbell, Dance and Drama Officer at the Arts Council commented,
“Three’s Theatre is really pushing boundaries of experimental theatre in Northern Ireland right now. At Date Show, audiences will be invited to explore the MAC, as they are taken beyond the role of spectator to become an intrinsic part of the theatre experience. Tapping into the modern world of dating and romance, this contemporary take on finding love will definitely be a night to remember.”
Date Show runs from 31st January-4th February at the MAC. For more information or to book your ticket visit themaclive.com/event/date-show
