Creative Lives is looking to recruit new Trustees with the skills, knowledge and strategic vision to support our organisation to thrive, with particular experience in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

We are ideally looking to hear from people with experience in creativity and cultural policy: people who have a strategic understanding of the landscape and levers for grassroots creativity across the island.

We’re also happy to hear from those with similar strategic-level experience in areas such as civil society, environmental sustainability or digital. Most importantly, you will be passionate about our mission, and your approach will be collaborative and inclusive.

Please note, this is a voluntary position. The Board meets four times a year, usually on a Thursday. Two of these meetings are online and two are in person, with locations moving around the UK & Ireland. One of these meetings is extended to serve as our annual full staff and Board away day.

In addition, all Trustees are members of at least one of our four Committees, which meet online quarterly to to review the organisation’s strategic performance. Trustees are appointed by the Board for a three-year term, and may be reappointed to serve for another three.

About the Organisation

Established in 1991, Creative Lives is a registered charity that champions community and volunteer-led creative activity. We work to improve opportunities for everyone to be creative, and in particular we celebrate and promote people expressing themselves creatively with others, recognising the benefits this can bring.

Creative Lives works with community groups, organisations, local authorities, policy-makers, funders, and creative individuals across the UK and Ireland, as a voice for positive change, to improve and expand the landscape in which creative participation can take place.
