Arts Council of Northern Ireland Clients Set To Celebrate Culture Night

There will be two citywide celebrations of arts and culture this weekend as Culture Night returns to Belfast and Derry~Londonderry with hundreds of events.
Artists and organisations funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland are featured throughout the programme, with plenty for audiences to see and do.
Derry~Londonderry:
An Culturlann - Cóisir Tí // House Party (8.30pm-10.30pm)
Experience the heart of what Irish culture is all about as An Culturlann opens its doors for its late-night House Party, Cóisir Tí! Join the music loves at the bar for an open session led by top-class musicians... All welcome!
Eden Place Arts Centre – HeART of Gaza - Parents and Children’s Workshop (6.30pm-8.30pm, Eden Place Arts Centre)
HeART of Gaza is an exhibition of the artwork of 14 young artists from Gaza aged 3-17 years. The aim of exhibition is to give a voice to the voiceless and provide them with a platform to communicate their experiences to the world. The exhibition has been shown in 35 places around the world.
The Playhouse - Patch & Play
Got a teddy that’s been loved a little too much? A toy car that’s lost its vroom? Well The Playhouse has their expert toy doctors on speed dial to mend, patch, and power up your favourite toys.

Belfast:
Beat Carnival – ‘Big Street Show’ - (9pm-10pm, Cathedral Gardens)
showcasing its flagship community music programme in BEATnDRUM’s 'Big Street Show’, featuring full e-bike sound system, guitars, keyboards, vocals, brass and lots of percussion. Expect to hear samba favourites with some 80’s /90’s classics.
Beyond Skin - 'A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld' - (7.15pm, Black Box)
Electronic music composer Alex Thompson, musician and founder of Beyond Skin, Darren Ferguson will bring together an eclectic group of musicians, poets, whirling dancers, meditation practitioners, a choir and bell ringers to perform an interpretation of The Orb’s 1989 soundscape 'A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld'.Circusful

Radical Hope 18:00 – 22:00Golden Thread Gallery presents ‘Radical Hope’, an exhibition in collaboration with the world-renowned Arsenal Gallery in Białystok, Poland.
Hard Rain Ensemble - Cultural Counterpoints – (5.30pm, Sunflower Public House)
Experience some of the finest minimalist music by celebrated contemporary composer Steve Reich ahead of his 90th birthday. This short programme, performed by Northern Ireland’s leading new music group Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble, will feature two of his most famous works for solo instruments with pre-recorded ‘tape’.
Oh Yeah Music Centre in partnership with Soultrane Festival present, Sound & Soul of CQ on Culture Night Belfast – (5.30pm-11.55pm, Oh Yeah)

Join the Oh Yeah team as the Cathedral Quarter comes alive, with moments in the Oh Yeah venue, car park and surrounding Hill Street. Come and hear the freshest new talent at Oh Yeah’s Youth Open Mic, groove through the evening at the Soultrane Shuffle, be whisked away to the Secret Garden in a mystery location.
University of Atypical and Bbeyond have partnered up for an evening of live performance art – (5.30pm-6.30pm and 7pm-8.30pm, University of Atypical)
Two of the Bbeyond New Commission artists will make performances in the Ledger Studio.
> Sorcha Keeve (graduated from BA Fine Art, 2025) will perform from 5.30pm - 6.30pm approx.
> Elaine McGinn (graduated from the MFA, 2025) will perform from 7.00 pm - end, the end of the performance may be anywhere from 8pm - 8.30pm.
The gaps will be filled by previous performances by both artists from BIFPA events. (Belfast International Festival of Performance Art)
Bbeyond and University of Atypical present an evening of accessible performance art in the Ledger Studio. Drop-in from 5:00 pm to watch newly commissioned members of Bbeyond perform their work. Performance art uses space, time and the body to create a reaction between artist and audience. You might not know what you’re going to experience during the evening, but we hope it will provoke a response! Audiences can enter and leave at any time during the performances.
Ulster Orchestra:
Double Double Bass – (Boundary Brewery, 5pm. John Hewitt bar, 7pm)Ulster Orchestra musicians Ben and Maitiú are all about that bass, and they’ll be entertaining you with a host of brilliant pieces written and arranged for double bass duo. Expect familiar favourites, undiscovered gems and a few surprises along the way.
Top Brass - (Belfast City Hall, 4pm)
The Horn section of the Ulster Orchestra are no strangers to providing a fanfare for a special occasion, so no better place for the Orchestra’s brass to herald Culture Night Belfast than amidst the top brass at Belfast City Hall! Join Ulster Orchestra musicians Sarah, Jesse and Derek for a selection of fantastic music written and arranged for horn trio. Expect a mix of the old, the new, and the unexpected…
