Funding

Applications for Arts Council funding for individual artists now open, supported by The National Lottery

11th July, 2023

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has opened a range of funding programmes to support the work of individual artists. The schemes are part of the National Lottery Support for Individual Artists Programme (NLSIAP), which provides funding to support individual artists working across all artforms, both at home and internationally, and at different stages in their careers.

Pictured (L-R) are eight of the twelve 2022-23 National Lottery Support for the Individual Artists Programme ACES awardees including, Jamie Guiney, Gavin Peden, Dorothy Hunter, Suzannah McCreight, Gilly Campbell, Director of Arts Development at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Alessia Cargnelli, Anushiya Sundaralingam, Peter O’Doherty and Dominic Montague.

The aim of the overall National Lottery Support for Individual Artists Programme (NLSIAP) is to support artists across all disciplines to create work and develop their practice. Broadly, awards can be for specific projects, specialised research, or personal artistic development.

While artists may apply to more than one scheme, only one grant will be awarded in any one funding round. Separate application forms must be submitted for each scheme and the projects within each application must be significantly different.

For details of how to apply, eligibility and how much funding you can request under each scheme, please check the individual guidance notes on the Arts Council web site at Funding for Individuals | Arts Council NI (artscouncil-ni.org)
