Catherine Campbell, Leading Light of Stage Beyond Theatre Company (5th February 2024)

The Arts Council would like to share our condolences with the family and friends of Catherine Campbell, who died peacefully on Monday, following a short illness. Catherine was one of the longest serving members of Stage Beyond Theatre Company, the award-winning resident theatre company for adults with learning difficulties, based at the Millennium Forum in Derry City. To everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her and seeing her on stage, she was a shining star. 

Gilly Campbell, Director of Arts Development at the Arts Council, described her as, “a remarkable young woman who brought real strength to her performances, confident on stage, gifted with great humour and comic timing, with the biggest heart. She was a genuine inspiration to others to realise their potential. Our thoughts are with Catherine’s family and her many close friends at her ‘second family’ at Stage Beyond.”

Catherine’s funeral takes place on Wednesday 7th February at 10.45am for 11.30am Requiem Mass in St Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry interment immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
