Gearóid Ó Cairealláin

Amongst his achievements as a champion of the Irish language movement in Belfast for more than forty years, Mr Ó Cairealláin was an important and influential figure in the arts. He was a founding member of the arts and cultural centre, Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich at the heart of the Gaeltacht Quarter in the West Belfast, Radió Fáilte and Irish language theatre company, Aisling Ghéar. He was also a talented musician in his own right.

Our thoughts are with his wife Bríd, and sons Ainle, Cairbre, and Naoise.

A funeral mass is due to take place on Tuesday 24th December at St Peter’s Cathedral, Belfast at 10am.
