Pupils from Belfast Boys’ Model school make their broadcast debut
23rd February, 2026
The Belfast Boys’ Model School recently spent time with creative industry professionals - artist Jazzmin McClure, journalist Mark Devenport and television production company NVTV - to develop their creative skills and produce 'Model Moments', a magazine show for That’s TV Belfast (Freeview channel 7, Virgin Channel 159).
The project was made possible through the National Lottery Creative Schools Partnership Programme, funded though the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and delivered in partnership with the Education Authority.
The school is one of nine post-primary schools in Belfast and Derry~Londonderry to take part in the scheme, which aims to boost educational outcomes for students by bringing more creative skills into the classroom.
Pupils presented the show, called ‘Model Moments’, and created fun segments on science experiments and cookery. The boys also interviewed north Belfast sports personality Carl Frampton and past pupils who are now working in creative industries.
The show was aired on That's TV Belfast last week and can be viewed on YouTube.

The Creative Schools Partnership Programme with Belfast Boys’ Model School will continue to run until June 2027 through a number of creative projects to further support pupils to learn digital, organisational, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills. Working alongside professional artists and school staff, pupils will gain a deeper understanding of the creative industries and take part in meaningful experiences that extend beyond the traditional classroom environment.
