The search for the new Ireland Chair of Poetry begins

Professor Paul Muldoon will complete his term as Ireland Professor of Poetry in October 2025. Now, the search begins for the new Ireland Chair of Poetry who will serve until 2028. The professor will be in post for a period of three years during which time they will be attached to UCD, TCD and QUB. The new professor in addition to delivering lectures and seminars at the Universities, can also hold workshops, seminars and readings for the public.
The Ireland Chair of Poetry Trust now invites the public to nominate senior poets of honour and distinction to fill this prestigious role using this form:

About the Ireland Chair of Poetry:c
The Ireland Chair of Poetry was set up in 1998 following the award of the Nobel Prize of Literature to Seamus Heaney and is jointly held between Queen’s University Belfast, Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. Every three years a senior poet of established public standing is chosen to represent the Chair as Ireland’s Professor of Poetry.
