25th February, 2026
The Arts Council of NI is delighted to learn that Replay Theatre Company is collaborating with Swedish theatre production companies to build ROTVISKA - a brand-new show for young audiences with complex needs. Replay is supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and has a strong, international reputation in the realm of inclusive theatre work.
Caoileann Curry-Thompson, Drama and Dance Officer, Arts Council of Northern Ireland said:
“Replay has honed its practice in Northern Ireland through meaningful engagement with its young audiences and trained many of our finest actors in their methodology. It is wonderful to see Replay and Swedish theatre companies come together to create a rich inclusive work for young audiences with complex needs born out of collaboration and cultural exchange.
"This co-production, directed by Replay’s Director of Inclusive Theatre, will see a local artist, Chris Grant, relocate to Sweden for a 6-month period, with the show coming to Northern Ireland in March 2027 as part of the Belfast Children’s Festival. Rehearsals are well underway and the company has received support from Culture Ireland to present this work at the Bibu Festival Sweden in May 2026”
